Shawa Luangwa Camp is situated on the eastern bank of the Luangwa River in the South Luangwa National Park. The site was chosen by Jacob Shawa, the Head Professional Guide at camp. Jacob was voted one of Wanderlust’s top 8 best professional guides and he is the inspiration behind the building of Shawa Luangwa Camp. Jacob has an incredible passion and great knowledge of the bush and all it has to offer.
Shawa Luangwa Camp consists of five luxury tents raised off the ground on wooden stilts. Each en-suite tent is open on three sides with magnificent views of the Luangwa River and the park.
Activities on offer are walking safaris and game drives. Shawa proudly offers the very first silent safaris in Zambia's South Luangwa National Park using solar-powered electric vehicles or e-Cruisers. Guests can also have the opportunity of cooling off in the pool which has wonderful views over the river.
